In the online academy, you will find for each module short pleasant video lessons in which I teach you to fully understand each part of autism in the “Qigong-way". You will learn to look beyond the behaviour and go to the core of autism with your approach.
Live Sessions
In fortnightly online group sessions (via Zoom), I will give you more depth and background, discuss cases and answer questions. Thanks to the live sessions, your commitment remains high and you really integrate your newly gained insights.
Live Retreat

My name is Sabine Baeyens and I'm the founder of the Make Children Better® school.
11 years ago, with a very small heart, I boarded a plane for the United States. I'd just had a burn-out and was embarking on a brand new adventure. Today, I'm very proud to present you with the 9th edition of the Sensory Therapist Certification Course for Autistic Children.

Frequently asked questions
This training is my life's mission, all the material is evidence-based and aims to give you the tools and context you need to provide the best therapeutic care for autistic children and their families.
Ideally, you are already accustomed to working with autistic people. You know what autism means in everyday life and stress behaviour no longer surprises you. In this course, we dive straight into the practical approach and I don't go into what autism is.
No! If you can watch a video, you can watch all the training material online. You don't need to download or install anything. The online academy can be accessed on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Is it possible to register after May 1, 2024?
Yes, registration for the Qigong Massage Certification Course is possible until June 8, 2024. This way, you have exactly one month to complete all the online lessons and be well prepared to take part in the retreat in July.
I worry that I won't have enough time for the training programme.
This is a very valid question. Expect to spend 6 hours a week working on the online course material. This is the time I would recommend spending weekly on developing your clinical practice anyway. If you want to start making a lasting impact on autism, it's important to give yourself time to integrate new skills. Through the programme, you will be able to make great strides in your approach to autism as you will continually be guided through the process. I also make the programme very accessible because I know that a lot of people don't have a lot of time. The master-calls via Zoom can all be downloaded in audio form so that you can listen to them at your leisure while walking, in the car or during another activity. Participants have also told us that the training is addictive, but in a good way, so they automatically take the time to keep working on it.
Don't worry, I'll do my best to bring you up to date so you can get your certification. In the unlikely event that you're away for an extended period of time, there's my come-back and learn guarantee. No worries, I've got you.
Individual coaching is not part of my offer, as all my love, energy and attention are devoted to supporting participants in this certification programme. There is the option of entering the QST supervision track for graduates, in which I offer intensive group coaching.
Scientific research has shown that qigong massage for autism produces positive and lasting results for any child who receives the massage daily over a period of at least 5 months. Behaviour improves by 32%, receptive language control improves and autism becomes less severe. Parental stress (a measure of the difficulties involved in bringing up children) was reduced by 44%. The sense of touch improved by 49%; problems processing sensory information improved by 38%. Children become more affectionate, participate more in family life and are more receptive in class.
21 scientific papers have been published evaluating the effect of qigong massage protocols on children with autism and Down's syndrome. The randomised controlled studies show an improvement in sensory, behavioural and developmental problems. In children with autism, all aspects of autism improve and autism becomes less severe. In children with Down's syndrome, speech and motor skills improve. The full list of publications is accessible here.
In the event of cancellation 30 calendar days before the start of the course, a fixed cancellation fee of 150 euros (excl. VAT) will be charged. In the event of cancellation between 15 and 30 calendar days before the courses starting date, a cancellation fee of 25% of the total training fee will be charged. If the cancellation is made between 3 and 14 calendar days before the course starts, the cancellation fee is 50% of the total cost. If the cancellation is made less than 3 days before the starting date, the full amount of the course is due.
How long will I have access to the online material?
As part of the certification process for qigong massage for autism, you will receive intensive coaching for 7 months.
After that, you retain access to the Academy, including updates, for a further 5 months.
